In this episode of the DadPOD, I take you with me on a drive where we have a little car ride chat about the three “C’s” of fatherhood. A number of months ago I wrote a multiple piece series blog about this. It was called Dad as Coach (parts 1 & 2), Dad as Counselor and Dad as Consultant.
Is there anything we can learn that is good from the relationship between Miley Cyrus and Billy Ray Cyrus that we can take with us as fathers? I think there is one thing, an important thing we can take from all that…that’s what I share in this DadPad blog post.
How do you know that you weren’t the right dad for your family? Much of our lives are lived in the unknown. We plan but so much is out of our control. Maybe we need to approach our daily challenges as a father like Esther and Mordecai and understand that we are where we are maybe “for such a time as this”
One of the things I’ve most enjoyed doing over the past nearly 8 years since we moved to Little Rock from Minnesota was to be the “shuttle service” for many radio guests that have appeared on FamilyLife Today radio. (Colossians 3:20, 21 ESV) This verse has often been a guardrail in my parenting. My lovely wife has brought it to my attention more than once as well. […]
As much of the country suffers from drought conditions, we have also seen less than average rainfall in Arkansas so far this year. I hate to use the sprinklers and would much prefer that nature do my watering for a number of reasons. But, in order to salvage what is left of our backyard, I […]
Remember playing that game with friends or your family? We would do it on car trips. If you’ve never played, it’s simply a game where one person thinks of anything in the world and then you take turns asking “yes”/”no” questions to see if you can guess what it is. Well, today’s 20 question game […]
